MIDLAND, Texas (KOSA) - The City of Midland reports two people are in the hospital after a motor vehicle collision happened on Sunday around 12:02 P.M.

According to the city, public safety officials are asking drivers traveling southeast of Midland to avoid the area around the intersection of East County Road 173 and South County Road 1110.

Officials say the collision caused two people to be transported to Midland Memorial Hospital and sent two tankers across the area.

The tankers were confirmed to be empty.

The Department of Public Safety is working to clear the vehicles from the scene.
