Bryce Hoppel’s high school coach reflects on his time with the Olympian: Shares last-minute advice

MIDLAND, Texas (KOSA) - Humble, kind, smart, and of course fast, these are words we have heard over and over again when people are talking about Bryce, and his former coach, Hilberto Ochoa echoed those praises, while also sharing some last-minute advice as Bryce prepares for his next Olympic race.

Ochoa says this was a frequent occurrence, Bryce would walk into the office, sit down, and manifest his dreams.

That greatness has put West Texans on the edge of our seats.

Hoppel finished second in Wednesday’s Olympic 800-meter race qualifying him for the semi-finals Friday morning.
