Odessa College Women’s Basketball prepares for NJCAA Region 5 Tournament

ODESSA, Texas (KOSA) - The regular season is done for the Odessa College Women’s Basketball team as they finished with a record of 27-3. The NJCAA Region 5 Tournament begins Wednesday for the OC women when they take on Temple College.

With a 27-3 regular season record, the Wranglers have been almost untouchable all season. After starting 1-2, the Wrangler have lost just one of their last 27 games.

But going into the postseason is a whole different ballgame. Every game requires a “win or go home” mentality, but head coach Franqua Bedell is confident the way his team plays can lead to wins.

As for the opposing Temple College Leopards, Bedell says they are athletic and play an uptempo style. The Leopards average 83.5 points per game, while allowing fewer than 67 points per game.

Bedell is ready for the postseason, but says his team is simply ready to play someone else.

Bedell describes the way his team plays like an army. It’s a team game through and through.

The Wranglers take on Temple College with tip-off at 5 p.m. to start their postseason.
