Founding

In 2003, 16-year-old Pier, known as “Kasper” for his very light skin, was killed after he was hit by a car while he was skateboarding at the intersection of 16th Street and Golder Avenue. His parents, Jamie and Susana Pier, were instrumental in building a local skate park. After many meetings and proposals to the city, Ruben Pier Memorial Skate Park became a reality in November 2009.

Construction

Spa Skateparks, built the 10,500 square foot facility. There’s no pre-fabricated parts it’s all custom built on site, featuring:

  • Rails
  • Ramps
  • Skate Bowl
  • Stairs
